Thanks for the kind words y'all.
I wonder whether these were suicide bombings or unattended packages a la Madrid.
If the latter this is by no means over.

I think Tony Blair should come home.I don't think he should. First, he can't personally add to the security situation...his presence simply adds to it.
Second, he should not be seen changing his schedule in "reaction".
Third, he's not just AT the summit...he's the host. Disruption of the summit may be THE target...best not to give them the "victory".
Lastly, President Bush didn't rush to NY on the first day of the WTC attacks. He paused for several days to allow local efforts to settle in. I think Blair is right to stay put. Obviously, the summit agenda will change, however.

A taste of DU:
"This is something you would not wish on anybody. My point is I hope this is not the start of something bigger. Give Bush an excuse to turn America into a full-on dictatorship. Bush, Cheney, and Rove know they are in deep trouble. What better way to stay in power than create chaos. I don't like the feel of this one bit!"

We have a cure for that, and they'll surely appreciate the symbolism of being buried alive strapped to squealing pig. That's a cruel thing to do to an innocent pig.

No, Edgware Road is the junction between the District and Hammersmith & City lines, which forms part of the Circle Line. From a Tube perspective, it makes perfect sense. Aldgate East, another such junction, was also hit. Much of the transport around the city and to many of its residential neighbourhoods was knocked out as a consequence.

Are there any reports of radiation? S&P futures are down unusually big for the news as we have been told so far.
