have the stuff we need for today (we are an afternoon paper).

This is interesting. There are no TV monitors or radios in your newsroom/newsbuilding? What time zone are you in? I think you may have unveiled (unwittingly?) one of the reasons why papers can seem so rooted in their biases.

I agree the G8 was a cover for moving around and getting into Town. With a lot of strangers in Town, it's pretty hard to pick out the evil ones quietly walking around London.

I don't believe it is clear that the interment camps were "mistakes". If even 0.01% of those Japanese jailed had a tendency to be enemy agents, jailing them saved untold American lives, and may have cut years from the war.

(personal info removed) is probably about 22 years old and has no concept of history. I'm too young to have experienced WWII, and I know a fair share of history. Age is no excuse.
Speaking of history, the Patriot Act, and what FDR did in WWII can't even hold a candle to what Lincoln did in the Civil War.
