According to the article, Gov. Huckabee criticized an "immigration bill" (Senate Bill 206) by Republican senators Jim Holt of Springdale and Denny Altes of Fort Smith "as un-Christian, un-American, irresponsible and anti-life." The bill would have require proof of citizenship to register to vote and also force state agencies to report suspected cases of people living in the country illegally.

The article states that Gov. Huckabee supported House Bill 1525 by Rep. Joyce Elliot, D-Little Rock. The bill would have opened the door in Arkansas for illegal aliens to receive college scholarships.

Ugh, I had thought highly of Huckabee before this.

Gov. Huckabee opposed the Republican bill that supported the rule of law and supported the Democratic bill that supports illegal aliens.

Hucksterby isn't a RINO - us folks who disagree with him are.

Anti-soverignty and pro-open-borders are now mainstream in the GOP.

Sounds like another Quisling RINO.

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

Gov. Huckabee will likely seek the 2008 Repbulican presidential nomination. He chose, however, to criticize Arkansas senate Repbulicans in his own state who are simply trying to enforce the rule of law with regard to illegal aliens. He also chose to support an Arkansas Democratic representative that seeks to assist illegal aliens.

I heard that "The Huckster" was pro-OB on a FR thread several months ago

A self-proclaimed religious background is only that - self-proclaimed - many of America's immigration and illegal alien problems are because a Christian church in New Cannan, CT has broken federal and state and local laws by actually becoming coyotes and weasels in unlawfully bringing illeal aliens and their families into the USA, financing and supporting them, feeding them, helping illeal aliens unlawfully get US Social Security cards, CT Driver's Licenses, fake USA Birth Certificates, jobs, housing, and even giving them "sanctuary" housing within their church and church members's homes.

Now you see the Mayor of drug-gang ridden Danbury, CT asking the feds and the CT State Police and the CT Governor - to track, arrest, anfd deport illegal aliens who have destroyed Danbury, Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, and many other CT cities.

The CT State Police reply :

"Not my job man!!!!!!!"

Once upon a time I was one of the initial plaintiffs against the CT State Police and State of CT that became a massive class action civil lawsuit.

The Chief of the CT State Police resigned under media spotlights and my depositions of him and his crooked Gestapo - Governor Ella Grasso (up for re-election) said:

"This will end up on my desk"

Ella Grasso "decided" to "spend more time with my faimily...." and dropped out of the CT Governor's race -

CT's high-dollar hired legal firm advised the state to "settle" -

CT paid out over 17 million dollars and numerous cases were reversed or dropped

I killed the Queen of Connecticut

Do not ever PMO

Personally, when Slick Willie was cited by the DOJ for targeting Texas plates in Arkansas by the Arkansas State Police as those of drug dealers and illegal aliens - and the AK Governor Bill Clinton said he would do it again - I look beyond all of Slick Willie's other actions and agree with him fully on this - the DOJ under Ronald Reagan and George HW Bush was out of control on immigration, drugs, and borders - playing hand in balls with the ACLU and Mexico and AZTLAN.

We need to cherry-pick our allies as the need arises -

I do not hate Bill Clinton - I despise his actions and what he did/does - but I am pragmatic when it comes to the real world

How many homeless, 'just looking for a better life' has he allowed to 'immigrate' into the governor's mansion?

Isn't it at least as unAmerican, unChrisitian, and selfish to keep them out of his publicly financed housing? Surely he has extra government owned beds that go begging nearly every night.

Let's see him set the example.

ITMT, keep the ILLEGALS on their own side of the border.

"The Republican governor, who many believe will run for president in 2008"

Any Republican who is really serious about running for President knows that the only way he can win is with a significant percentage of the Hispanic vote.

Republicans who make gratuitous insults to Hispanic voters are not serious candidates, they are merely vanity candidates trying to scam money out of people by creating anti-Hispanic hatred, fear and hysteria.

When Republicans go to vote in the primaries they will vote for someone who can defeat Hillary, not someone who has already thrown away his chances of winning by alienating one out of seven Americans.

Illegal aliens should voluntarily leave this country or be deported. Gov. Huckabee viciously attacked two (2) courageous Republican state senators who believe in the rule of law, yet supports a Democrat who is seeking to make illegal aliens eligible to receive college scholarships.

I support the two brave Republican state senators. Hillary Clinton supports giving legal status to illegal aliens. Maybe Gov. Huckabee should be Hillary's running mate.

Gov. Huckabee seems more concerned about the well-being of illegal aliens in Arkansas than about the well-being of American citizens in Arkansas.

"So, you admit that ILLEGAL ALIENS are voting in our elections. "

How did you arrive at that conclusion. I referred to Hispanic voters, not illegal aliens.

It looks as if Huckabee, like so many other American politicians, has sold his soul to the Devil in order to maintain his political power.

"Gov. Mike Huckabee told a captive audience Wednesday that America is great because it has always opened it doors up to people seeking a better way of life."

This is an historical truth that cannot be denied. And today it is being reaffirmed by the fact that the immigrant friendly states and cities are the ones prospering while the immigrant-hostile states continue to lose jobs and populations.

Hispanic-Americans are not the Devil. They are American citizens entitled to the same representation as Irish-Americans, Italian-Americans, Polish-Americans, German-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Jewish-Americans Michigan-Americans, and any other group of citizens.

There are only winners and losers in electoral politics, which do you want to be?

Dear Mike, just a little hint: open borders is not a winning platform in Republican Presidential primaries. In fact, you just blew whatever chance you thought there was that another Arkansawyer might make it to the White House.

Speaking out against illegal immigration is the best way for a Republican candidates to receive the Hispanic vote. 47% of Hispanic voters voted in favor of the anti-illegal immigration measure Prop 200 in Arizona. By continuing to speak out against illegal immigration, Republicans should be able to increase the number of Hispanics who vote for Republican candidates. It looks as though your "the sky is falling" hysteria regarding Hispanic voters is unfounded.
