I find the policies covered in No Child Left Behind Act that address the issue of turning over children's names to the government for recruiting more than a little disconcerting as well.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. Its all based on federal money--don't accept the money & don't provide the lists. Private schools can do that now.

MAJOR BINGO. That's exactly right. Try explaining this to people who want the freebies; but not the responsibilities that go with it.

Of course it is. Try finding the basis for federal spending on education in the first place and explaining to 'conservatives' the national government is not supposed to be in the business of education

Agreed. These are public schools being run on taxpayer money. I much prefer the military on campus than Planned Parenthood and the military has a bigger right to be there, IMHO.

My son will be 17 in July.
