I garandamntee ya my wolf/malamute mix would more than likely try and stop anyone from just walking up to my door. That is her job! Any cop who has ever been on my property, and they come by once in a while because of deer and moose being injured or killed out on the highway, know they are in "her" territory and wait for me to come to them. Does this warrant my dog being shot? Cops are supposed to be a little smarter than this aren't they? This guy jumped the "gun" in my opinion. Most officers will tell you to put the dog up unless you want it shot, if he/she is displaying an aggressive attitude. I have known dogs that do not like uniforms period, everyone from the mailman to the meter reader. Should we shoot them all?

This cop having seen the dog, should have waited for the owner to show up, period! The dog doesn't know him from Adam. If he was displaying an aggressive attitude, which most cops do, the dog was letting him know who's property he was on. How in the world can you shoot a dog for protecting it's home?

This guy should not be a cop if he cannot show better judgment than this!

If it was an officer that did not know, and the officer perceived that the dog was a threat, yes, it does.
