proposed constitutional amendment could appear on the November ballot

Let me guess as to the results on that one. Pro-land grab-2%, Pro-property rights-98%.

"The city of Houston has not, and likely never will, use eminent domain powers as aggressively as some cities simply for the purposes of economic development," White said in a statement. "We do respect property rights, and believe that eminent domain should not be used in a way that might simply benefit one economic interest versus another."

"But lets keep our options open, just in case."

Two questions for anyone:

1. Someone called in to Doug Stephan awhile ago to declare that illegal land grabbing was EXACTLY how George W. Bush got the land to build the Rangers' baseball stadium. (Just read 'Fortunate Son', she told him!) Ran some poor smuck completely off his land! Further..."The Plan" is to use part of that land to build Bush's library. Does anyone know anything about this?

2. Bruce Ratner, president of Forest City Ratner Companies, is currently apparently land grabbing now in NY to build a baseball stadium (among other things). Is he any kin to the lovely and very liberal Ellen Ratner?
