Greta has been doing a better job ever since she got out from behind the desk and stopped just repeating the Hannity show. They must have done a makeover... I first noticed this on the case of the missing prosecutor. For one thing you can see that she's a woman, so she's got that going for her.

"Greta has beaten all other reporters hands down on this one."
You bet. It was fascinating seeing Greta show up at the gate with the mother and them being allowed in by the Dad as long as cameras were off. A book written by Greta about this case would have to include that scene, as well as whatever was discussed once they were in the house.

Thanks for the new thread.

The discussion at work is that she is a victim of white slavery. You must be kidding. Why isn't the discussion at hand that she had a relationship with Van Der Sloot, things got out of hand or ugly, something happened to her, her body was put out to sea, no body no crime?

I never watch For the Record but have always kind of admired Greta. She is doing a fantastic job on this particular story, especially since she's been working with Beth Holloway-twitty. It's great to see these two determined, smart women, swarming all over the officials on Aruba. If this case gets cracked, it will be in large part because of these two women pushing for information and action. They are a couple of JRTs (Jack Russell Terriers!)
To: HairOfTheDog
ok... so be in the Smokey Backroom first and create the thread from there - thank you.

I noticed in Greta's interview that Joran's father appears terrified. I think his fear reveals that he knows exactly what happened to Natalee and may be involved. Fox News reports he's just been arrested as I was writing this!

This is what the latest we got from a reporter who is known on the island to get confidential info from his friends in the police department.
1. All three guys agreed they left JVDS and NH near the Marriot on that night.
2. JVDS testified that he and NH went for a swim and after that whey walked bak to the hotel, where he walked home and NH to Holiday Inn, which is just a few 100 meters away. Easiest if you walk on the beach, there is a walkway connecting all hotels from the beach area. He insists he left her there.
3. The DJ was suspected because he told an friend erlier that he was asked to use his boat (not the TATTOO) but a smaller vessel to dump something in the sea. That's why when inteviewed he said that he saw the guys leaving the girl at the HI, but when this story came apart, they arrested him the next day.

By Greta Van Susteren
We have been "scrambling" for many days and we are pretty tired. The days are long from about 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and sometimes we work until midnight. We don't stop when we say good-bye to you.
Last night after the show we went from the set at 11 p.m. to the beach not for midnight sunbathing, but rather to the beach that the Dutch teen took Natalee Holloway (search) to on May 30. We wanted to see it and see it at late night when Natalee was supposedly there. I suppose it would have been more accurate to make a trip there at about 1 a.m. but we are so sleep deprived that midnight had to do. I could see no point in staying until 1 a.m. We shot some video (but of course it was dark) just in case we want to show it to you. I will need to look at it later today to see if it is helps you understand this investigation. It was obviously dark but the light of the moon illuminated the area. In fact, what could be different about the conditions is not midnight vs. 1 a.m., but rather the type of moon on May 29 into May 30.
Our day today will start in a few minutes with chaos. We are staying on tonight and apparently the hotel is sold out. So, we start with a bit of a problem... our show needs at least three more rooms that we don't have. I hope I am not sleeping in the airport lounge tonight (it will be like college again!) We also can't change our airline plans to leave today in light of the hotel "issue"... it is too late... we missed the last flight that will get us to Washington, D.C. in time for tonight's show. And, of course we don't want to leave... we want to do more work here. Oh well, it will work out.
We have been combing this island for information and you know our cameras travel with us. It is now a joke among us (yes, we need some levity from time to time) is that the only thing we have not seen in daylight since arriving here days and days ago is the beach. We look at the beaches as we drive along the road and talk about them but that is as far as it goes. The beaches are beautiful here.
Yesterday, as you know, we went to the home of the parents of the Dutch teen who is in custody. We showed you about 10 minutes of our interview last night and we have about 30 more minutes of tape. The total tape is about 40 minutes. We hope to show you more of the interview tonight, plus the other tape we have that has not yet been shown.
I have posted several pictures today on the blog I want you to see more of this story and how we cover it. If you watched last night, you know that we spent our day when we were not at the Dutch teen's home with Natalee's mother. She was going door to door about her daughter. Everyone and I mean everyone on the island knew who Natalee is, even the young children we met on the street. And yes, Beth is still holding out hope for that clue where her daughter is.
I am hoping to leave tomorrow morning so that I can go home and sleep... but there is a chance I could be back in Aruba (search) on Monday. It will depend on whether there is more we can find out by me being here.

Natalee Holloway a wòrdu asesiná ? Latest developments in Aruba (Thursday): AweMeinta reported today that the investigation has reached a 'deadlock'. The Aruba media is also reporting the same. Apparently there arent new leads to follow and the Aruban authorities are searching in the dark. Hasibokos.com has learned that the authorities are putting a lot of pressure on the four suspects who are now in custody right now. They are trying to get more information out of them, but this has not (yet) resulted in new leads. Hopefully the arrival of the search team from Texas will give new perspective on this case, cause if we summarize what the Aruban media is reporting right now: ' The investigation is STALLED'
