French Diss: Oprah Reportedly Gets The Boot In Paris Newspaper Column Says Winfrey Denied Entry To Hermes

CHICAGO -- There are published reports that talk show queen Oprah Winfrey was denied entry into an exclusive Paris boutique.
A source told the New York Post's Page Six column that Winfrey was denied entry into Hermes in Paris. The source said, "when she tried the door, they refused her entry because they have been having trouble with North Africans."
On the Magnificent Mile in Chicago, where Winfrey's daytime talk show is based, several people offered their opinions to television station WMAQ.
"I'm not welcomed -- it feels like -- in the stores," said Meesha Pike. "I have to have my husband with me just ... if I'm going to shop for a Chanel bag or something. The women don't talk to me until I am ready to make the purchase."
"I think it is terribly discriminatory," said Pike's husband, Robert. "I don't know what kind of problems they've had, but to single out someone because of the way they look, Oprah Winfrey or not, I think it is kind of ridiculous."

So, the store has been having problems with "north Africans"? Well, everybody knows Oprah had her DNA tested and she is a ZULU -- a SOUTH African....they should have let her in. /sarcasm
It has happened to her in this country. She never mentioned the name of the boutique but it was in Chicago.
No kidding? It's wrong, of course, but my point was that racism in all forms exists everywhere. But somehow we only hear about how bad it is in America and I'm sick of it.

I agree. It's not as if this happens every day to Oprah but it's the French and French bashing in and sometimes well deserved.

They wouldn 't let me in either, I presume, because I am a short, fat, protestant, English-speaking white guy...the difference between Oprah and I that makes the most difference, however, is that I don't care if the French don't let me in their bauble stores.
I know they're French, but still, I hope they didn't hurt their feet.
Oh, yeah? If I ever have a store, I won't let any french people in! I won't let Oprah in, either.
What am I missing here? Did this TV station manage to find another person walking the streets of Chicago who had been denied entry to Hermes, or is she talking about something else?
