Havana- Cuban president Fidel Castro received a delegation from the National Defense Institute of Advanced Studies of Venezuela (Inaden) which concludes its visit to the island today, reports the official newspaper "Granma".

The brief note in the Cuban newspaper gave no other details of the meeting held last night at Havana's Palace of the Revolution...

The Venezuelan delegation, headed by the director of Inaden, Brigadier General Rafael Eduardo Arreaza Castillo, traveled to the island for the purpose of exchanging experiences, to learn the Cuban defensive system, and to discuss economic and social matters of interest to both countries, explained the source.

It is traditional that when Venezuelan soldiers complete their masters degrees at the National Defense Institute of Advanced Studies visit similar center around the region to exchange experiences with their colleagues.

After a tour last Tuesday of the "General Maximo Gomez" military academy, General Arreaza said that of particular interest to Venezuelan soldiers are Cuban concepts concerning popular participation in defense activities.

Arreaza, the director of Inaden, said that in Venezuela "the unity and brotherhood between the Armed Forces and the people is vital".

"We are convinced that the security of the nation is not exclusively the problem of the army, but a duty for all citizens"...

Since their arrival in Havana last Sunday, the Venezuelan teachers and students of the Masters program in Security and National Defense visited La Pradera International Health Center, where patients from the South American country receive specialized medical attention, in accordance to a bilateral cooperation agreement.

Cuba-Venezuela-China alingning more and more recently. I hate to say iot, but this is shades of the Dragon's Fury Series of Novels which warns about this very thing, among others.

We'd best be very vigilant about the developing geo-political situation IMHO. This is right here in our back yard.

All pre-text for Chavez' naming himself Presidente Por Vida. "Socialism" is the cover ideology, but any ideology would do.
