The media were shamed by being caught lying about Korans in toilets. Like a little kid caught doing something he shouldn't, the baby MSM are not taking their punishment (telling the truth, how awful!), they're pointing fingers and saying "It's not my fault, it's THEM! Newsweek was TOO right, was TOO!"
The lies being spread by the lefties about Gitmo and the war on terror in general are typical leftist rhetorical overkill. They use the same preposterous language when assaulting any conservative idea or Republican plan that is opposed to their socialist schemes ie. a Bush proposal to cut taxes is "an attack on the poor" and "Republicans want to starve children and old people" etc. ...we know the drill. I'm glad this AI idiot used the term gulag...not simply because it was so ridiculous but because it might make some of the ignorati try to find out what real gulags actually were.
President Bush seems reluctant to take on the media in a full scale battle. He was interviewed on Fox before the election and said something along the lines of he wasn't going to pick a fight with the media.
That strategy seemed to pay off since he won the election, but the drip, drip, drip of the unrelenting attack on Bush's policies by an adversarial media is having an impact.
I don't see an Administration strategy to counter the media onslaught, unless it's very subtle.
"This is an enemy that refuses to observe any conventions, treaties or rules of warfare. They lie, cheat and violate agreements. They slice off heads like raw meat. They murder women and children. They fly airplanes into buildings"
And when they(1993 WTC Terrorists) are held in a regular New York US prison, they hold down a guard, Louis Pepe, and gouge out his eyeball, leaving him blind and brain damaged.
And we're supposed to look forward to them coming to a prison near us soon? NO!
Last night I listened while my tax dollars on National Public Radio made a hero out of Abbie Hoffman. No information was provided on what a disfunctunial adult he was, just that he was such a great hero for getting arrested for wearing a American flag shirt in 1968.
"President Bush, apparently smarting under the lash, has said such a move is 'under consideration.'"
Bush never said "under consideration". I don't remember the exact statement, but it was more like "all options are on the table" type of statement - meaning that as an option - closing it is always a possibility.
However, both Rumsfeld and Cheney said immediately - NO - IT WILL NOT BE CLOSED! End of subject!
