You know things are really getting out of hand when TV hostess Oprah Winfrey decides to go jihad.
Yes, Oprah, the waddling guru of the bored middle-class at-home housewives, has repeatedly taken time off from teaching her followers about closet organization and thigh reduction, in order to promote the Palestinian cause. She has run one-sided articles about the Middle East conflict on her show and and in her O Magazine.
Whenever the subject of terrorism is broached on her show, Oprah studiously avoids allowing anyone to link it to Palestinians or the Hizbollah. She interviewed mothers of suicide bombers who were distraught because their houses were bulldozed. There was no mention of Israeli babies and their mothers being blown up in buses, pizza parlours blown to smithereens, nor Jewish teens murdered while at the disco inTel Aviv. Not even the Jews murdered when two guests of the International Solidarity Movement blew up Mike's Place in Tel Aviv. Debbie Schlussel has dubbed her the affable Joseph Goebbels of daytime talk TV. Columnist Naomi Ragen demolished Oprah for her politicized bias. The Anti-Defamation League has denounced her for bias, noting that 'Palestinian girls will be rescued when their leaders say "No" to the incitement, hate and violence that has permeated their political and cultural landscape for years now.'
In the June issue, a feature article tries to arouse sympathy for a an 18-year-old Palestinian terrorist, Yusra Abdu, who was tried, convicted and is currently serving time in an Israeli jail for conspiring to perform a suicide bombing. The article tries to make the Palestinian wannabe mass-murderer appear humane and likeable.
The propaganda article is written by one David France. He quotes enemies of Israel, leftists, and unidentified human rights activists, spouting false statistics. In the piece he asks, 'What would make a girl take such a radical and grisly step?' France "answers" himself when he quotes a moonbatish university professor, who asserts that: "religion is not the cause [of Palestinian suicide terror]... these are people who define their situation as hopeless. They feel that they have no way to respond against what they see as Israeli military aggression."
France forgot to add a detail to the story. The real reason the Oprah heroine set out to commit mass murder was that she was worried about getting punished for participating in a date! Because a date would have compromised Yusra honor and she might have found herself getting her throat slit by her brother or father. Is it any wonder that, as France himself writes, she confessed to Israeli security police that the real reason she wanted to blow herself up was "boredom?"
Now in fact, the reason 18 year old Palestinians try to commit mass murder is because they are driven by a genocidal neonazi Islamofascist ideology instilled in them over decades by the PLO and its affiliates, all with the blessing and cheerleading of the Western Left. Hard as it is for an Oprah fan to understand, Palestinians want to mass murder Jews because they hate Jews and want to annihilate Jews. Not because they are "occupied." (They were mass murdering Jews long before any land was "occupied" by Israel in 1967.) And no one with an atlas can seriously suggest that Arabs murder Jews because Jews have too much land and Arabs not enough.
Why would Oprah, who is not exactly hard up for cash, sell out and allow her magazine to be hijacked on behalf of Palestinian violence?

I'm not surprised. Oprah is a useful idiot who has helped make America a nation of victims and weaklings.
When you think about it, this pro-Palestinian bias in the entertainment industry goes back quite a long way; - decades. I distinctly recall Vanessa Redgrave receiving her Oscar at the Academy Award ceremonies, using her acceptance speech as a podium for a very long-winded anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian promotional speech. At the time, her sentiments weren't widely received as approvingly as they might be today.
What is even more astounding to me is to witness an industry which has so many Jewish people in it, endorsing anti-semitic and anti-Israel propaganda! But then, I've never understood how Jewish people could ever belong to the Democrat party, or be liberals anyway.
To be sure, Oprah isn't Jewish, so she's playing the liberal "victicrat" card all of the time. People on her show are nearly always whining victims, or they are celebrities endorsing the victim card.......not very different from Howard Dean telling us all how it is that "people of color" can't make it in the Republican Party!
For pete's sake! George W. Bush has been a powerhouse in elevating outstanding non-white, non-European Americans to positions of power, responsibility and influence throughout the top posts in his administration!

But that's the essence of a Liberal. I know many of them, and they all feel noble because they "care about the victims". Of course, they need to have victims to further their agenda. If one group escapes victimhood, they'll find another group to label.

A liberal must first of all always retain a position of perceived superiority - how can he/she 'help people get ahead by their own efforts' - and not remove the edifice (victimhood)they stand upon?

(chuckle) Oprah has found a niche within the ranks of the slobbering leftist camp, she makes her employees sign heavy-duty non-disclosure agreements about her deliberate design and methodologies, etc. -- she knows exactly what she is targeting and doing. Her brand of commercial-liberalism-for-gain is just another facet of the God-awful left. At least her contribution to furthering a weak American liberal sector, is less damaging than others.
The Hollywood Jews are an enigma. My take is that they don't care. They live in a bubble of money anyway, well protected and isolated from reality. In this regard, I don't consider them "bona-fide" Jews at all. Interesting!

Hey, Char! Oprah is so chic-contrarian, so enlightened "liberal", so "above the line" elite as proven by her outspoken perverse support of Palestine over Israel. Has Oprah joined the Black Muslims? I respected Oprah's rise to becoming an American icon...until lately.
Having a few days off, I had the misfortune of watching Oprah a while back (okay, I was ogling Aishwarya Rai if you must know!) and I have to say that Opray is a complete idiot. I was embarrassed for her during the interview. She seems to have somehow traded on her sex, race or whatever to become the "queen" of daytime television, but I bet no one could tell you why.
It was just sad. She is simply an entertainer, and a bad one at that.
Many of these big celebrities are only that - celebrities. Most of them have little or no formal education. Very few have college degrees. They get watermelon-sized heads because they were good at whatever they did to get to the top..........like.......Streisand had (has?) a fabulous voice. How does that give her a PhD in political science and foreign affairs? Martin Sheen? George Soros? Michael Moore? Dixie Chicks?.....etc.

She is a feminist and I never watch her tripe, but my sister did until she was interviewing "swingers" and glorifying the degenerate lifestyle on her afternoon show. She tries to normalize the radical left ideals.
How succinct is that. Now I know what to say to leftist traitors when I meet them.

She did just that already several months back on a show featuring the lives of 30 year old women in countries acros the world. Among them, a Jordanian woman and a woman from another Arab country.
The gist of their stories made their lives and life in general in their countries sound close to paradise...
I was making choking and gagging noises during those portions of the program...
