Reminds me of what used to be called the Rockefeller Republicans. They are pro-business and porn is big business. Being in porn, they are very liberal on cultural issues.

The Rockefeller Republicans were socially liberal and fiscally liberal. That was the whole problem.

I consider the "practice" of conservatism to be setting good and sound
public policy (both economic
and social), mainly in the form of laws. By that standard, one can virtually be a hedonist and still be conservative, so long as he or she supports a conservative government.
In the same spirit, I don't obey every rule the catholic church has taught me, but that doesn't mean I want them to change and suddenly become a liberal institution. (Nor would I want them enforcing standards on people outside their domain...)

Whenever I see the term "Rockefeller Republican", I recall old Nelson Rockefeller, whose ticker quit when he was in flagrante delicto with his secretary on a desk. It would seem that Miss Carey and her handler certainly qualify as "Rockefeller Republicans" in that sense.
