Clinton Excoriates News Media for Timidity

The mainstream news media, which has been taking a beating at the hands of conservatives in recent years, came under a blistering attack from the liberal side Tuesday as New York Senator Hillary Clinton charged that they had become a pale imitation of the reporters who brought down Richard Nixon during the Watergate scandal. Speaking at her first major fund-raiser for her 2006 reelection campaign in New York, Clinton said, "It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today. ... They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart. I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake."

"Why, if you guys had been doing REAL investigative reporting, my philandering husband and I would still be
in prison."

Hmmm, wasn't this the same Clinton, along with her husband, that first blamed a VRWC and then just blasted ALL news media for his indiscretions?

As I recall, the Clintons during their co-presidency had no problem calling newspaper editors, trying to get them to shut up reporters writing unfavorable articles.

If they're criticized by the White House,

The Clinton White House had the IRS go after "enemies", told slimy lies about Bill Clinton rape victims, and the Clinton White House murdered Vince Foster.

These are some of the more mild examples of the "Clinton White House".

You are an idiot and a lying scumbag, Hillary.

It would be hilarious if these comments irritated lamestream media reporters to the point that they all started gunning for her and Bubba.

I can dream, can't I?

She's talking about Newsweek .. not the media in general. I'm surprised too because of her pal, Eleanor Clift is at Newsweek.

...become a pale imitation of the reporters who brought down Richard Nixon...

It's true that modern reporters hanging out in bars all day & night have switched, by and large, to a paler ale than that swilled by their forebears in the olden days...

So, she wants the press to ask her about the FBI files she has? The DOJ sure as hell ain't. Jump on her all you ball-less press types out there.

I don't think today's reporters for the MSM are pale imitations of Woodward and Bernstein. I think they are carbon copies. Incompetent, biased, crapweasels.

Yeah...and Chuck Colson went to jail for disseminating "1" FBI file...while the Clinton's had over 900 on hand and no one says a word.

We should be revolting in the streets. I have had enough of this "lopsided justice". The RATs always skate no mattter how much crime they commit. At some point, we revolt or it will get to the point where there is no hope. I fault the spineless GOP for allowing the RATs to skate free.
