Good Morning Dolli!

Memorable saying from my childhood was:"I brought you into this world and I can take you out of this world"!

That one stuck with me and I have used it on my kids!

My favorite authors are Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy!

Great opening Dolly.

Mrs.Nooseman ...

"I brought you into this world and I can take you out of this world"!

I heard that all the time growing up. Not from my parents but from neighbors. They'd be yelling it- usually at one of their sons. :)

I have read ONE of TC's books, but have seen ALL of the movies...am I sorry or what? I liked your mom's "pithy saying"...the universal one, I believe is "because I SAID SO"

Morning, Dolly. One of my favorite quotes:

Other People's Expectations by George Bernard Shaw:

"The only man who behaved sensibly was my tailor; he took my measurement anew every time he saw me, while all the rest went on with their old measurements and expected them to fit me."

Well my parents didn't yell it!

It would come up in a lecture and I think that is why it made an impact and why it is stuck in my head!
:)

I am not around as much as before the election either..the nicer weather with it's yard demands & play desires are present. So is a LOT of "situations" that devour time. It is really good to see you. I had wondered how you were doing

If you have time before sleep ( think that is your time), were there any phrases that your mom used or phrases that are typically Indian?

"My favorite authors are Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy!"

Mornin' Noosie -- I have *many* favorite authors, and among them definitely is Clive Cussler with his improbable explanations of life's little mysteries!

The delight of older age and retirement is being able to indulge in reading whenever I choose - if unable to sleep, grab a book and read a few hundred pages and sleep late if I like!

Balances all those years of getting up at 0430 to go to work - after going to bed at midnight...

Your day will come..:))
