Christians criticize Gay Games sponsors
Washington Times ^ | 6/6/2005

Two conservative Christian groups are criticizing Kraft Foods Inc., and Harris Bank for contributing $25,000 each to the 2006 Gay Games in Chicago. Gay Games officials say it's the first time any of their sponsors have been attacked since the quadrennial sporting event began in 1982.

Why do you care if I care? I won't support a company that condones sexual deviancy - simple as that.

They are just trying to promote their products to another demographic.

Their financial support of the Gay Games encourages the continuation and expansion of this event. If Kraft were marketing to this demographic, they would feature same-sex couples with children in their ads. I've not seen ads like this (but then again, I don't watch very much TV), so I'm guessing they're trying to show their support for the Gay Games without being too public about it.

Kraft's PR department should be savvy enough to realize that a company specializing in processed cheese food would instantly become fodder for late-night talk show jokes if it publicly declared its support for the Gay Games (Velveeta vs. Vaseline comes to mind . . .).

These companies are trying to play both ends to the middle -- support the Gay Games, but don't call attention to that support. Now that their financial support for this event is on record, it should be interesting to see their PR departments spin the publicity.

Why do you care if Kraft tries to promote their products with homosexuals?

Because they don't want homosexuals to be fed.

Go to Kraftfoods.com. I already emailed Marc Firestone that I would no longer buy Kraft products. I really hate to give up Miracle Whip but I suppose I can live with Hellman's. But I am serious about this. I'm sure Kraft won't miss me but I will know I did the right thing.

i don't like the fact that kraft is partnering with groups that have recently condemned anyone who is criticizing the sponsorship of gay games as extremist radicals, and i've told them as much.

the gay people are the out of the mainstream radicals who are insisting on not promoting diversity by excluding heteros from their event.

. . . not promoting diversity by excluding heteros from their event.

It's okay to not promote diversity at every event! Men are discrimated against from being in the Miss American pageant too, but that's okay! I personally do not care if gay people have the "Gay Games". There are other groups that have similar things, Senior Games, Special Olympics, etc.

yes but kraft's entire justification is diversity, which makes no sense because of the exclusionary nature of the gay games

"Why do you care if Kraft tries to promote their products with homosexuals?"

By putting their name in support of a group that defines itself by their desire to stick their penis up the butts of other men, they revolt me. So yes, I care.

Homosexual Agenda Ping.

Couple points - companies which donate money to immoral causes are free to get boycotted. And the idea of special Olympics for people who practice same sex sodomy - crazy! These people are seriously mentally ill.

Let me know if you want on/off this pinglist.
