I worked there one summer to help put myself through college. About 50% of the maids were illegals who spoke no English. By summer's end all the white ladies were fired and replaced by non-complaining illegals. Yes, the white ladies dared to complain about the working conditions. This story is not atypical - it happens all over the US and in many industries (agriculture, food, construction, etc.)
Name the resort.
JMO, you can't, it's a made up story, to whip up hyperbolic emotions.
"Name the resort."
La Costa Resort and Spa in Southern California (Carlsbad) in the 1970's. Any other questions I can answer for you, Dane?

Dane, in this instance your opinion is wrong. True story. I was there. The same story applied to the restaurant and janitorial staff at this resort. Every few months INS came through and green-carded and gave all the illegals a free bus ride home. The same ones made their way back to the hotel within a week and were re-hired. This was the late 1960's and the resort ownership had ties to organized crime. Maybe it's changed since then, but I have no knowledge of that.
Pride in the USA, sorry about this. I know I told you FR could be a tough place sometimes. I hope you won't take it personally.
