NEWS BRIEF: "ALL of Europe was on a state of alert after the fatal blasts in London today, Italy's Interior Minister Giuseppe Pisanu said.

When asked if there was a state of alert in Italy following the blasts, which Prime Minister Tony Blair has said looked like terrorist attacks, he replied: "There is in the whole of Europe.""
