Fifty-six percent (56%) of Americans say they followed the news story somewhat or very closely. That's the most unbelievable thing I have read in a while!

Just 22% of Americans have a favorable opinion of the filibuster compromise reached last week in the judicial nomination battle. Well we found the center (22%) and it is even smaller than the Left and the Right.

Gosh, this is very good news! More Americans than I thought were (a) following the story and (b) didn't like what happened. I'm sure this will be on the front page of the NYT, and the lead story on the network news tonight...right?

I guess the majority of the American people must be extremists thst don't give a damn aboout the preservation of Senate rules, judging by these results.
What did the fab 14 win again? By my count the "Republicans" are now going to have primary challenges and the "Democrats", mostly in conservative states, already in jeopardy for being Democrats are now toast for signing up to this.
You have to wonder how they feel about the great Maverick Compromise now.

Democrats, by a 38% to 19% margin, say the GOP won.
That number jibes with all the chatter that's been going on over at DU. They're pissed, which is a good sign.

To go right to the base let's start asking this favorabilty question about McCain.
1) How do you rate the success of McCain/Feingold to trim election spending?
2) Should McCain be held accountable for his opening of unlimited campaign financing by billionaires
Next:
McCain just formed a bipartisan group to assure up or down voting in the Senate, with the exception of "in extreme circumstances".
Will you vote for him when he runs in the next presidential elections if he again fails to deliver?

22% support the filibuster compromise. Removing media talking heads from the equation, the poll likely dips to about 15%.
