A fellow I know who works for Calpine (higher up guy) told me they need a HOT summer and it will help tremendously. Well, looks like they're going to get it this time.

Meanwhile, parts of the SE Antartic continue to build up huge layers of ice, that are totally abnormal, that is much more ice then one would expect in such a short time.

Phyllis Cameron, 92, planned to keep cool with lots of iced tea and a few gin-and-tonics.Good plan!
To: Marine_Uncle
I read about that the other day...odd.

It was the third coldest May on record for New England...It's been awful! And it was still gloomy in southern NH all day. Hey Seattle, want your rain back?
To: MeneMeneTekelUpharsin
We had a hot summer last year. Almost killed me; no air conditioning at home or most buses. My research building on campus is new and has AC, but it is set terribly low. I don't know what's with these people. I'm from the east coast where we get heat and humidity and know when it's time to just give up and get a freakin' air conditioner.

Hey Seattle, want your rain back? Yes, please. It's 94 degrees right now, and my sprinkler system is broken so I can't water my yard.

Does this heat wave mean 50,000 dead like it did in France a couple of years ago?

Funny thing, I've been in Seattle even earlier in May when it was even hotter. Why all the sudden a heat advisory for only 90 (if even) degrees? I wonder if there is a global warming hysteric embedded in the NWS who had something to do with this?

It's Bush's fault. Because he didn't support Kyoto.
