Islam is not a religion. It's a cult. A large cult. Soon to have nuclear weapons.

Everything you need to know about Islam can be found in "Gunga Din" (the 1930's movie). Substitute Muslims for Thugees -- all the rest of it fits.

Some of philosophical difference - on top of beliefs about God - that Islam has as a religious philosophy, makes "separation of church and state" difficult for a devout Muslim. More so than any other religion, salvation is to be created in your life on earth through the creation of the Muslim community; particularly the world as one Muslim community. You are admonished that such a community is one of your highest prayerful wishes. In as much as the creation of that community is directly part of the human salvation experience, acts that are percieved to be against that community are acts against you personally. Muslims claim to have much in opposition to communism, but the only true opposition is in the reasons for which an all encompassing state authority must be imposed. Both stand in clear opposition to the freedom of the human individual.

Modern Christianity suggests the good community is the result of the pursuit of what is right and good for the individual. Islam and Communism suggest the individual good is a subordinate goal to the primary good of the community. As the last century has shown, both philosophies create pathological communities, because the individual is thrown out, weakened, or destroyed on the alter of the "community" ambition and thus the positive contribution of individuals to that community degenerates over time.

Most excellent.

The time grows short for islam's reformation, the WORLD tires of the islamic's outrages and so-called "moderate" islam's ringing SILENCE in the face of the crimes of their co-religionists.

Put UP, or Shut UP.

Lucid and spot on.

I would love to see a response to this by the moderate ROP. Someone send this to CAR or what ever their acronym is and ask for a response.

First and foremost, I do not condone defilement of any holy book.

Me neither. But what about the Koran?

Excellent comment, Wuli. I find that people who spout off about the virtues of "community" are almost always those with a disproportionate will to power. They want everyone to passively "be nice" while they lead them by the nose.

I prefer the virtues of a corporation where the goal is clear, all of the participants are encouraged to do their best, inititative is rewarded.

If you want respect for your religion then show respect for other religious things and the lives of their people.

I shudder to think what my son and two daughters (one to be born in a matter of a few months) will have to face from this bloodthirsty cult when they do acquire nuclear weapons. I see another World War in their future, one far worse and far more bloody than the one the World faced 60 years ago.

The 'moderate' muslim is a tiny minority in a vast culture of death, one completely intolerant and hateful of anyone not professing allegiance to allah.

God be with them - I still pray that I am wrong.

I want so much to believe that most Muslims are good people. But, day after day I hear about the muslim on mulim slaughter of men, women, and children going on in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (to name a few). Now, I see hundreds of thousands of people riot over the desecration of the Koran (which the US likely provided). You've got to be kidding me? After all this daily mayhem, they're biggest concern is a book? Muslims of the world, it's time to grow up. This is the 21st century!!!

"As the last century has shown, both philosophies create pathological communities, because the individual is thrown out, weakened, or destroyed on the alter of the "community" ambition and thus the positive contribution of individuals to that community degenerates over time."

Also, both are totalitarian systems, where only a small elite at the very top enjoy the "fruits" of the labor of the rest, whom they hold in absolute slavery. e.g. handful of mullahs running Iran, or the Soviet Politburo, Saddam's regime (himself, Uday, Qusay and those uniformed generals sitting around his conference table), Hitler and his SS elite, the Taliban's black turbaned monster elite etc.
