Rush Limbaugh sounds off on controversy as many urge boycotts, firing of president
An apology by PepsiCo's president who likened the United States to a middle finger is apparently doing little to calm outrage caused by her remarks.
In the wake of WorldNetDaily's coverage of Indra Nooyi's commencement speech to graduates at Columbia Business School in which she compared the U.S. to the middle finger with both positive and negative connotations, consumers are vowing to boycott the company, and the topic is being widely discussed on talk radio.

Miracle Whip is best on turkey. I know it because the store display told me so.
or is that, Indra Annoying?
Actually, Coca-Cola has always had an association with Democrats. But NOT today's ultra-looney radical Left Democrats, but the older Southern Democrat. I'm a sucker for plain Coca-Cola.
I agree with you. This is offense looking for a reason, not reasonable anger.
BTTT
Good point.
poop in the pepsi....
Pepsi deserves a good slap on the wrist for being obsequiously peecee in the person of its president. And another slap on the wrist for its non-apology apology. Just because there are folks who deserve punches in the nose doesn't mean we have to forget about those who deserve slaps on the wrist.
She traduces what had been a fine American brand. I notice she was rather belittling towards Africa as well, it being assigned the place of her pinky finger in her illustration. Using fingers of a hand, something which doesn't change much during an adult lifetime, to illustrate the relationship between continents that are in flux, is rather presumptious too.
So she's just another obnoxious face at a soft drink, cereal, and snackfood company... but she isn't just another obnoxious face. She's like the difference between Steve Ballmer at Microsoft making an off color remark about America, and Joe Schmoe the Goober County, Arkansas marketing rep for Microsoft making the same comment. She is "Ms. Pepsi" whether she wants to be or not. And Pepsi is a piece of Americana, Coke aficionados notwithstanding. She betrayed that.
<< She must think Americans are some lower caste. >>
Of course she does.
Most Asians believe organically in their own towering superiority over US and natives of the Indian sub-continent, with centuries of their obscene "caste" system practically organic in their makeup and mindset are foremost among those that do.
And if we allow "multi-culturalism" to endure and thus permit more like this fat curry-ruminating cow to carry American passports about the world and, while hating everything about the rest of US, to call themselves "Americans" [Or, as in her case -- and likely because she is too bloody thick, to prejudiced, to self-absorbed and too mean spirited to understand the privilege that becoming an American confers "American citizens"] we will, in her example, be quite fairly so perceived by that small part of the world that does not already judge US "mongrel" or worse.
<< Indra Nooyi
or is that, Indra Annoying? >>
I dunno about you butt I'm looking forward to hearing the Nooyize Ind'a ears of Pepsico's door slamming shut an her arse!
Good to know. Is Pepsico owned by the Mormon Church or something? Just curious because I had heard that and I wondered. I like Frito Lay verrrry much! Especially the baked Cheetos but can't get them locally.
<< She is "Ms. Pepsi" ..... And] Pepsi is a piece of Americana [And] ..... She betrayed that. >>
You got it.
Aha! Another affirmative action hire...
I am a veteran. I am a conservative. I despise the "hate America" crowd with every fiber of my being, but I cannot find a single place in this woman's remarks in which she denigrates this country. Did you actually read what she said? If so, point out where she says anything that indicates she thinks this is a bad country.

Chill them, Steve.
Being a conservative Vet' won't clear this one up for you -- what's needed is comprehension.
So you stay on the porch this time around and sit this one out. W've got your sixes -- and your pack.
Amen!
One of my greatest fears is that we will end up with an entire structure of right-wing PC that is just as ubiquitous and irksome as the left-wing version. All the outrage over this sounds to me like a step onto that slippery slope.
"Hello, Just wanted you to know that I read the transcript of your CEO's recent speech to the 2005 graduating class of Columbia University's Business School in New York City - you know - the one where she compares the US to the middle finger? I also read her lame apology where she is trying to backtrack from what she was really saying.
I think what she said was atrocious & very condescending to this great country that let her come over here & become as successful as she is. TALK ABOUT BITING THE HAND THAT FEEDS YOU!!!!
I have stopped drinking Pepsi as of right now & I will tell all of my friends about what this woman said about America. I encourage all proud, patriotic Americans to do the same.
SHAME ON YOU - I hope this hurts your company's profits - you deserve it. How dare you hate America so much?
Having said that - I salute you with my "American" finger!"
You're right. So read what she said instead of what Rush Limbaugh and WND told you she said. And read Axhandle's earlier post, he states the case perfectly.
