Expel Sen. Reid

Expel Sen. Reid

Tuesday, May 17, 2005

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is using the politics of personal destruction to redefine McCarthyism.

Mr. Reid, a Nevada Democrat, announced on the Senate floor Thursday that he continues to oppose judicial nominee Henry Saad because of "a problem" in the highly confidential FBI report regarding the Michigan judge. "All you need to do is have a member go upstairs and look at his confidential report from the FBI, and I think we would all agree that there is a problem there," Reid said.

Even Mr. Saad is not allowed to see his file.

Standing Rule of the Senate 29, Section 5, states that a senator risks expulsion......

snip

..... only Judiciary Committee members and the nominee's home-state senators are allowed access to it.

Reid is neither.

Now that Reid has let Saad twist slowly, slowly in the wind, the Senate should act swiftly to enforce its own rules in a bipartisan move to expel him.

Until this moment, Sen. Reid, America never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness. You have done enough.

Have you no sense of decency?

The line wasn't "stolen." It is obviously used here to startle the Rats with an allusion to their hypocrisy.

Well .. we know where Reid got the information .. from Carl Levin's office. Levin is on the judicial committee and he's from Michgan.

If Levin or a member of his staff allowed Reid to see the information .. then we need to get rid of Levin also.

If he were to be expelled, Nevada has a Republican Governor(Kenny Guinn) who I guess could appoint a replacement until a new election took place.

That would be interesting.

Have you no sense of decency?

No he has no sense and no decency.

This is the kind of thing communists do to their opponents in communist countries, Reid royally slipped up and exposed himself as the little commissar that he is. He has no place in a free peoples' Senate, in fact, most of his comrades on the left shouldn't be there either.

It's sad to reflect on how in the world they ever got voted in, in the first place. The American electorate has gotten so stupid, ignorant, greedy and gullible that we have the likes of Reid and his ilk, and we may not ever recover if steps aren't taken to right our listing ship.

I disagree. No need to expel Reid. Just pass the Nuclear Option and let him stay and keep damaging the Democratic Party with his stupidity. He and Dean are our best assets.

Yep...and what about Stabenow?

My money is on Leahy, he has a record of leaking sensitive stuff.

But .. the FBI info would only be available to judicial committee members and home-state senators.

Wouldn't that be Levin ..??

FWIW, Ceci (Cece?) said on Chris Wallace's Sunday show that a mic was left on during one of the committee meetings,
and info was broadcast over the pa, outside the committee room.

(and Carl Levin or Leaky Leahy or Hillary's 900 FBI files or ...)

Sure, Levin and Stabenow are the homestaters, and Leahy is the ranking member on Judiciary.
