Some interesting goings on at the alma mater. You get flogged when you blog. (I hate excerpting, but I had no choice.)

She apparently did not intend to have real anonymity.

If you want to be anonymous on the internet, you certainly can be.

A little bit of a disconnect by the students. We aren't like that at all/she hurt my feelings because she described me online.

If they did fire this guy, shame on them.

He writes really well, and his writing show that he cares a lot about his job and the people he teaches.

I think SMU is a good school.

There are quite a few kids there, busting their tail ends, hoping to do real work. Many on financial aid.

So the claim by folks that its all snot nosed spoiled brats, is way off.

The school has some good programs.

Sure there are rich kids there....AS THERE ARE AT EVERY COLLEGE IN THE COUNTRY.

So the prof was a little too over the edge on this one.
Not to mention posting things that happened in confidence.

"The girls in my sorority house are all cokeheads,"

Anyone even vaguely familiar with SMU knows how true that is, fwiw.

You know, sometimes you will find some really good journalism in that rag. Especially when it comes to local matters. They will investigate stuff that The Dallas Morning News won't touch.
