McCain immigration bill to be challenged

High B/W video here: http://www.kvoa.com/global/video/WorldNowASX.asp?playerType=native&ClipID1=422977&h1=McCain%20immigration%20bill%20to%20be%20challenged&vt1=v&at1=Agriculture&d1=75200&LaunchPageAdTag=News&activePane=info&playerVersion=6 Estimates place more than 10 million illegal immigrants inside American lines.

Senator John McCain wants to match many of them with the work they seek.

"Our proposal is earmarked for jobs that Americans won't do, and there are clearly jobs that Americans will not do," says McCain.

McCain's new immigration reform bill would allow qualifying illegal immigrants to receive worker-visas after they pay a $2,000 fine.

Several years later, the immigrants and their families could become U.S. citizens.

"This has widespread support, it has broad bi-partisan support," the Senator says.

But some politicians say just the idea granting citizenship to people who unlawfully entered the country, is wrong.

"What does it tell the rest of the world? What does it tell the people who are trying to come here legally," asks former Arizona State Senator Randy Graf.

President Bush has publicly favored immigration measures similar to those McCain is proposing, but some lawmakers, like Colorado's Tom Tancredo, say the bill doesn't do enough to seal off the border, and they say the President will never see the bill, unless that becomes priority one.

Graf is mounting a second challenge to U.S. Rep. Jim Kolbe, R-Tucson. Kolbe is a top backer of guest worker programs and is liberal on immigration issues while Graf, a former state legislator, is conservative and was a top advocate of Prop. 200.

Randy is running against Jim Kolbe (R-RINO) and will not stand for the status quo immigration policies. Video is short and shows a longer interview with Mccain (R-RINO)

...and there are clearly jobs that Americans will not do... Several years later, the immigrants and their families could become U.S. citizens.

A contradiction? Does this mean that after several years they will not do the jobs that they came her for?

"Our proposal is earmarked for jobs that Americans won't do, and there are clearly jobs that Americans will not do," says McCain.

Tell me a job an American will not do when faced with losing the home or eating?
Food stamps have been the undoing of productivity.
Illegal immigrants are viewed as new tax revenue for the government. Illegal immigrants are not only taking the so called jobs Americans won't do, but they are taking the jobs that Americans do every day and accepting less money because they are accustomed to a lower standard of living.
They are forcing a lower standard of living on ALL AMERICANS. Any politician who supports illegal immigration or amnesty is an enemy of America and needs to be REMOVED FROM OFFICE!!

"Does this mean that after several years they will not do the jobs that they came her for?"

That's a darn good question, isn't it?

Maybe they are cheaper workers because taxes are not remitted for them, workers compensation, unemployement, etc. coverage is not paid for, nor provided to, them.

I find this idea that we are willing to tolerate an underclass of people, legally or illegally, un-American and down right disgusting.

Look at Europe, they imported all those Muslims to "do the jobs the Euros wouldn't do" and yet all you hear is "many Muslim youths are unemployed" and the over-all unemployment rate is 8%.

Whatever amount of people we need to bring into this country to do whatever jobs are available, it can be done legally and in compliance with all relevent labor laws.

Until our gov't is ready to really secure our borders (ALL borders, including the ones at the airports) every other action is pointless and a waste of everyone's time and effort.

I think we've all learned that since the 1980s, and I think we all learned on 9/11 the lesson that is re-inforced every week, if not every day, plenty of the illegals who come here mean to do us hard. This is a DIRECT result of NO CONTROL of our borders.

We should be well entitled to pick and choose who comes into this country. And anyone who comes here better come here to be an American, not to be a Mexican, not to be a Muslim, but to be an American.

rant=off

And yes, my Irish grandmother was a LEGAL immigrant to this country, and was proud to be an American. She never even visited Ireland after her children were grown.

I agree about McCain. This guy's whole program is to make himself lovable to the New York Times and the Sunday gasbag shows. The only legislation that he has successfully sponsored in my memory was the Campaign Reform Act which permitted George Soros to contribute >20 Million to unregulated 501c(3) groups.

Now it can be told McCain is the poster boy for the statement "Liberals(Dems and Rinos)are brain dead to reality"!

"Our proposal is earmarked for jobs that Americans won't do, and there are clearly jobs that Americans will not do," says McCain.

We hear a lot about the work Americans WON'T do, but nothing about who did all that work before Mexicans came running across the border to do it.

Does this mean that Americans just stood around waiting for someone to do work for them? Did floors go unswept, crops go unpicked, and nothing got built?

There seems to be liberal propaganda constantly telling the American people that there's work that they cannot do. Work that only Mexicans can do. What does this say about the American work ethic? What does it say about the ability of Mexicans to do anything other than menial labor?

We have Americans who are out of work, and others that are on welfare. Why is it that these Americans aren't able to do the work that "only Mexicans will do"? Why doesn't McCain put more emphasis on putting Americans to work and less on putting Mexicans to work?

With more and more Mexicans pouring over the border how long will it be before Mexicans are doing the work Americans CAN do? How many more jobs will there be that Americans "won't do"? How long will it be before Americans have no work that they can do at all?

I think he would have the last go around, if Kolbe's stormtroopers had not gotten to the local media with disinformation.

Several years later, the immigrants and their families could become U.S. citizens.

Very ambiguous reporting. Will these immigrants have to wait in the quota line like everybody else? Will there be an increase in quotas?

This report doesn't define those important details.

Kolbe got his clock cleaned in his oun home county it took the WHINORINOS of Tucson to reelect him. If Randy can get Kolbe's own brother to come out publically in a TV ad and say the things he's said a couple of times in the local papers Jim Kolbe would be burnt toast by the close of the primary.

"Our proposal is earmarked for jobs that Americans won't do, and there are clearly jobs that Americans will not do," says McCain.
"There is no doubt that Mexicans, filled with dignity, willingness and ability to work are doing jobs that not even blacks want to do there in the United States," President Fox said.
I'd love to see the list of jobs Americans won't do. I'd also like to know who was doing those jobs prior to the Feds turning a blind eye to this swarming of cheap, illegal Mexican labor.

McCain's new immigration reform bill would allow qualifying illegal immigrants to receive worker-visas after they pay a $2,000 fine.

What happens to the illegal aliens who do not qualify?

"This has widespread support, it has broad bi-partisan support," the Senator says.

It doesn't have this broad's support.

"What does it tell the rest of the world? What does it tell the people who are trying to come here legally," asks former Arizona State Senator Randy Graf.

It tells them the same thing that Mexico and the Feds have been telling the rest us for decades, FU.
