Most anti-hacking statutes should cover this - defacement of websites, as the "script kiddies" do is illegal.

Usually that's an unuathorized use, by cracking or stealing passwords. No such thing occured here. He jumped through the right hoops to become, if briefly, an authorized user. Our recourse is to delete his posts and remove his account, and ban his IP address.

This is authorized use?

Unless you are a lawyer, I will wait for their opinions. I especially want to hear from prosecutors.

He has certainly violated the "Community Standards" of FR.

He should be prosecuted.

I would wager that this activity would constitute a violation of his own ISP's Terms of Service; Identifying his ISP and presenting this to them would most likely result in the removal of his access privledges.

and ban his IP address

Probably wouldn't do much. If his IP range was banned that would prevent others w/ his ISP from coming to FR. The best thing to do would be to hit back.
