This author doesn't appear to be conversant with Tony Blair's political leanings. You'd think that just a bit of basic research shouldn't be that much to ask.

He didn't say Blair was conservative. He merely cited the leaders of the coalition who were re-elected. Blair does support the war in Iraq regardless of his other polical views. Instead of crabbing about research maybe you should spend more time reading the article before you comment.

I did read the article. The author treats both the results of the US and UK election as victories over liberalism. There's no coherent definition of liberalism that can label John Kerry as a liberal yet not apply the label also to Tony Blair.
