This could be one poll zogby gets right.
Rush said the whitehouse could be dangerously misreading the politics on this one and that seems to be the case. You're not gonna "educate" the 81% which doesn't buy into something like this; I'd say Rove and company need to rethink.
One poll I wish the Bush Administration would pay attention to.

While Bush did not start Washington's "LOOK THE OTHER WAY" attitude toward illegals, he is certainly the first President in over a decade that has the resources to do the proper things TO FIX IT. He has FAILED in this regard, willfully.
How bad can this attitude be? EXTREMELY BAD is the correct answer, both from a national viewpoint and a Repub political viewpoint. The entire core essence of America is being trounced, including our Constitution, our borders, the significance of our citizenships, our soveringnty, the SECURITY of our nation...to say nothing of what the Repub party is going to suffer WHEN THE SOCIALISTS PICK UP THE BATON...sadly, at this point, all they have to do is talk about it -- just saying what people want to hear (their modus operandi) --- and that could win 2008 for them.
Bush is not even showing that he cares about the country and the REAL AMERICANS that are being dragged down in so many ways, by this irresponsibility of Washington.
We have a big problem here, and getting bigger -- the people are not going to keep taking it.
The 2008 Pubbie hopefuls better get on this bandwagon. The best one that does will be most likely to get my vote. Sadly, Rats likel Hillary have already realized this and have altered their position enough to sway some mindless independents and RHINOs.
In a related note, a latino Pubbie nominated for the Supreme Ct (if option arises) will do wonders to counter the Rats whining as they try to filibuster the first Latino SC judge and B$thch about racist Republicans.
This is what frightens me the most. Hillary can "just talk about it," and make some vague statements about how she, as "president," will "make sure that uncontrolled immigration is stopped!" That's all that she, or any other liberal Democrat, needs to repeat, over and over again............to get an edge in the '08 election, and she could win with just that one issue. What perplexes me is that our otherwise "smart Texas poker player" - George W. Bush - doesn't seem to realize the danger, either to the country or to our Republican party, with his inattentiveness to this problem.
The justified reaction to the Federal indifference to perform one of its fundamental obligations, will not be pretty. Frustration can be explosive, when there literally is no solution in sight: Indifferent GOP or insane D
Bump to that.
Hi Char.
I have updated my FMCDH (From My Cold Dead Hands) sign-off with the addition of (BITS).....Blood In The Streets, which I foresee coming soon, due to the enormous increase of the Marxist progressive movement being shoved down the throat of this failing REPUBLIC through the Judicial tyranny of fiat law, the passing of unconstitutional laws by the Legislative and Executive branches of our government and the enormous tax burden placed upon the average American to support unconstitutional programs put forth by Marxist ideology.
I do not advocate revolution. I only think of what I foresee.
FMCDH(BITS)
You've got that dead on. How long, people? How long?
FMCDH(BITS)
Lou Dobbs is only commentator on cable news who understands this issue and how it resonates with an awful lot of voters.
Wow. Who do these Democrats in Congress represent, anyway?
What possible excuse does President Bush have for not listening? He is lucky he is not running for a third term!

As others have noted as well, our Republic is failing. It is getting weaker, not stronger. And this, as large an issue as it is, is indeed contributing to this -- where is another Ronny Reagan when we need one? I have been trying to find a likely conservative, and I don't see much when I look at Washington...in fact I keep getting more discouraged each time I look at Washington.
Americans fed up with Zogby polls.
In the universe (which could be just one of many)that we find ourselves in a rather insignificant existence, what is the meaning and purpose of a Zogby poll?
91 percent of those polled believe that illegal immigration is a serious problem.

55 percent of Florida voters polled believe that immigration harms the United States.
Research 2000 Florida Poll, March, 2005

Will our dopey president ever do anything about it?
