Man, you just presented facts. In the current FR environment of doom and gloom, facts must not be shown. You should only talk ill of President Bush and the Republican party.

I challenge anyone on this board to name three conservative positions the Republican Party or the Bush administration are advancing. 1. Lower Taxes 2. Privatization of Social Security 3.National sovereignity in mattters of defense

1) We have had only token reductions in taxes. Government spending has grown more under this administration than any other in history. Real conservatives would not collect taxes to spend on things that are not constitutionally authorized.

2) The proposal is for partial privatization, with a raise in the cap and means testing.

3) How can you make that statement with Norm Maneta still running the Dept of Transportation our southern border completely unguarded?

Why can't conservative candidates be found with charisma. I don't disagree with you about what has happened and really don't care to fight about it.

I believe the really staunch front pew conservatives tried to have it there way with a really smart man with no charisma named Barry Goldwater. Your still feeling the affects of that piece of crap president we ended up with.

I don't trust politicians because most of them are ambulance chasing blood sucking good for nothing lawyers living off the misery of others. Everyone talks about how crooked politics are in Louisiana and I can tell you it ain't no better in any other city or state I have lived. I have dealt with some of your politicians and they always seem to get their cut. Currently my Democratic congressman here in Texas is under fire for getting his children jobs with companies contracting with the border patrol. These same companies are accused of defrauding the government by installing faulty equipment.

The problem is we are now living in a double standard world where only those people with traditional values are held truly accountable.

All I was trying to say in my post was that if all the staunch conservative push out the so called RINO's who may differ on one thing and agree on the other then Republicans truly will be a minority party.

Traditional America is under attack by a bunch of vile, mean spirited and smart elitists. The Democrats are using the old divide and conquer. It is the same tactics used by the femiNazis and the reason why we have some really inane laws such as abortion on demand. Divide up you enemy into enough competing groups and even the weakest can gain a foot hold.

I hear you on the compromise thing. It's time to stop compromising. Bush won because enough people said they don't want our traditional values compromised to please the rest of the world.

You said:
I keep hearing how conservatives are winning but when I look at where we were, where we are now and where we are headed with Republican majorities im reminded of a line from a Clint Eastwood movie "Don't pi$$ down my leg and tell me its raining"Well it ain't raining!

I can't disagree with you on the raining thing. However, I would rather have the Republican we have than the traitor we could have had or the Hellary we might get in the next election.

This punk should be persona non grata (unwelcome person) at EVERY Republican event in the country. Grassroots Republicans should walk out of the room, en masse, every time he speaks. And they should make some noise in so doing.

From your linked article (2004):

"DeLay’s message: Play nice with your Republican colleagues or you’re going to remain stuck in your lowly committee positions."

Hmmmm, that's not what George W. Bush did as governor of Texas, when he ran RiNO primary challengers against conservative incumbents on the Texas state school board who were fighting Democrats on the board and the people from Norman Lear's People for the American Way over textbook content. PAW and the NEA were defending socialist and Leftist propaganda in schoolbooks against homegrown Texas critics who objected to children's being propagandized with tendentiously liberal, humanist, and nihilist course content. Bush and his political people weighed in on the wrong side.

Bush also stood aside as gay termites in the state government began quietly allowing homosexual couples to adopt wards of the State, in violation of Texas law, and didn't lift a finger to help a conservative woman whom gay-friendly state administrators fired in retaliation for blowing the whistle on the gay cabal.

There's another problem with DeLay's message:

When your party ceases to discuss public issues openly and honestly, your party becomes a conspiracy against the people as issues go behind closed doors and get settled in backroom deals, anaerobically and out of sight. Running your party out of a back room is how you grow corruption, not honest, clean government.

Meanwhile, the US birthrate has dwindled to 14 per 1000 of population, the lowest ever. Spin that fact. Meanwhile, the worker to retiree ratio has fallen to 3 to 1. Spin that fact.

The World Trade Center was destroyed in less than an hour by illegal immigrants.

Spin that.

If you think having too many mexicans is a problem, wait until there are not enough.

If you think having too many Mexicans is a problem, wait until both Texas and California are wall-to-wall Democratic strongholds giving the Rats a lock on the Presidency and the Senate, and their governors are old Mechistas, like current California lieutentant-governor Cruz Bustamante and LA mayor Villaraigosa. Wait until Mexican and Chicano nationalists and irridentists start talking the way the Parti Quebecoise does now up in Canada, about taking States out of the Union.

And if that's still not bad enough, wait until the U.N. sets up a commission run by the Chinese, the Russians, and the French, to oversee the partition of the United States.

We have had only token reductions in taxes.

I disagree, the reductions have been substantial. Unfortunately, they've thrown the budget out of balance because there haven't been corresponding reductions in outgo, and there can't be that much reduction in spending when so much of it is for obligations like debt service. At least we got rid of welfare -- but the Congress did that, not the Bush Administration.

Government spending has grown more under this administration than any other in history.

Unfortunately true, and conservatives would have to be unhappy with the degree to which the Administration's behavior has become Keynesian. I think the Administration is actually engaged in pump-priming to fight the recession in financial assets that has been going on since the end of the bull market in 2000.

Real conservatives would not collect taxes to spend on things that are not constitutionally authorized.

I agree, and one of our priorities should be to engineer the gradual withdrawal of government from extraconstitutional activities like Social Security and the repricing, privatization, or even abolition of corporate-welfarist projects like the Federal Reserve, the Corps of Engineers, and the Federal Aviation Administration that were created to benefit primarily corporate interests at the public expense.

The invasion continues with the blessings of the Stupid Party

Aaaaaah but, this Stupid Party is shrinking. I was a life long republican but no more. I am now completely Independent and look for a GOOD THIRD or FOURTH party.

Whenever I receive a request for donation and/or a questioning to fill out, I return with a little note telling them nicely that they are no longer my party and most of all no more money. I send the note in their prepaid envelope.

They keep coming every single day!

During the 2004 campaign, Cannon faced an unexpected primary challenge by immigration reform candidate Matt Throckmorton, who offered a strong showing despite being outspent by several orders of magnitude.

I think we can do something about that in the next election.

I do the same thing.

I get calls, too-- been an activist since Goldwater, so I'm on a lot of lists-- I'm always courteous, but I tell them these are my defining issues:

-Men(ace) in Black? SCOTUS goes Rogue...--

-Useless Eaters vs The Death Cult--

-Thunder on the Border-- (Minuteman Project)--

... and until I see someone actually doing something about them, as opposed to talking about it, not one red cent.

As Jeb Bush said re: Terri, "I've done all I can do..."

The long term solutions to the illegal immigration problem is really indirect.

If America stops paying people in food stamps, medical care, housing, money etc., not to work these people will FINALLY be forced to take the "jobs Americans will not do."

Also, if these handouts were not available, many illegal immigrants would not come here.

Having more children is not the answer when these children will not mow the neighbors lawn for the astronomical amount of $5.00 an hour because he is given everything anyways!

>>It apparently hasn’t occurred to Cannon that all congressmen (himself included) swore an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, not the platform of the GOP, the policies of the president, or the whims of foreign lobbies like MALDEF. Agitating on behalf of the abolition of our national borders may be "consistent with the Republican Party" as led by George W. Bush, but it’s hardly consistent with that solemn oath of office – and fellow traveler with the likes of MALDEF are in no position to cast aspersions on the patriotic standing of those who believe in enforcing our immigration laws.<<

So with the encouragement of the U.S. government and with the financial support of major U.S. corporations and foundations, LULAC, MALDEF, MEChA/MEXA, and La Raza, pillars of the radical ''Hispanic'' lobby, successfully and aggressively promote hatred of the history, identity, culture, language, and laws of the United States.

Hell, our almost all (RINO) republican Texas government has raised taxes and passed a law to give in-state tuition to illegal aliens. The Republicans have left me. The're all either socialists or communists. There is very little hope left for the America I grew up in.

If you like facts, I've got some for you:

AZTLAN LEADER QUOTES

"While I am saying this half serious and half joking, I think we are practicing la reconquista in California."
~ Jose Pescador Osuna, Mexican Consul General, Feb 2002.

"I have proudly affirmed that the Mexican nation extends beyond the territory enclosed by its borders and that Mexican migrants are an important - a very important - part of this."
~ Ernesto Zedillo, Former President of Mexico, speaking in Chicago, July 23, 1997.

"Mexico extends beyond its borders."
~ Vicente Fox, Current President of Mexico, speaking to a gathering in Milwaukee in July of 2001

"California is going to be a Hispanic State and anyone who doesn't like it should leave. They should go back to Europe."
~ Mario Obledo, President of the Californian Coalition of Hispanic Organisations, June 1998

"Our devil has pale skin and blue eyes..." "To the gringos in the audience, I have one final message to convey, 'Up yours, baby. You've had it, from now on.' "
~ Jose Angel Gutierrez, professor, University of Texas.

"We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. The explosion is in our population... I love it. They are sh!tting in their pants with fear. I love it.... We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him."
~ Jose Angel Gutierrez, professor, University of Texas.

"Remember 187 (proposition to deny taxpayer funds for services to non citizens) was the last gasp of white America in California."
~ Art Torres, Chairman of the California Democratic Party in front of 400 cheering Latinos at U.C. Riverside on January 14, 1995.

"We need to avoid a white backlash by using codes understood by Latinos... non-Latinos aren't watching, they aren't raising questions"
~ Fernando Guerra, professor, Loyola Marymount

"Go back to Boston! Go back to Plymouth Rock, Pilgrims! Get out! We are the future. You are old and tired. Go on. We have beaten you. Leave like beaten rats. You old white people. It is your duty to die. .. Through love of having children, we are going to take over."
~ Augustin Cebeda, of the 'Brown Berets', a militant Aztlan group at a violent rally in Los Angeles on July 4, 2000.

"Fair housing agencies report a surge in discrimination by immigrant landlords from many nations who refuse to rent outside their ethnic group."
~ Reported in Los Angeles Times, Nov. 21 2001.

"In an extraordinary political move, President Vicente Fox has announced the formation of a cabinet level agency to govern, protect and provide services to over 20 million Mexicans now living in Aztlan, a territory encompassing most of the southwest part of the USA. President Fox declared yesterday that he will personally lead the new agency he named "Consejo Nacional para las Comunidades Mexicanas en el Exterior" (National Council for Mexican Communities Abroad). The "Council" will consist of the president, most of the cabinet secretaries and a, as of yet unnamed, representative from Aztlan. This is a bold move that essentially extends the arm of the Mexican government into the territories it previously lost during the Mexican-American War of 1848."
~ Reported in "La Voz de Aztlan", August 7, 2002.

"We have Nicaragua, soon we will have El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Mexico. One day, tomorrow or five years or fifteen years from now, we're going to take 5 to 10 million Mexicans and they are going into Dallas, into El Paso, into Houston, into New Mexico, into San Diego, and each one will have embedded in his mind the idea of killing ten Americans."
~Thomas Borge, Nicaragua Interior Minister as quoted in the Washington Times, March 27, 1985

Tax reductions were not "Substantial". The government, with the Presidency and both houses of congress controlled by the Republicans, is increasing spending at an alrming rate. Consider the potential tax reductions possible if dspending were reduced to proper levels and compare that to the crumbs we were thrown. If a business acted this way the stock holders would have fired the management long ago.
