Illegals also may pay in-state fees for college, while US citizens of another US state (and immigrants who are legally here) must pay the higher out-of-state fees.

A couple years ago, there was a bill to give California National Guard members tuition benefits in attending community colleges, state colleges and to a lesser extent UC colleges (most states offer educational benefits to their Guard members, but not California). The bill got dramatically changed and the original intended benefits did not come to pass. This was at the same time others in the legislature were pushing hard for tuition benefits for illegal immigrants.

Of course, there are priorities... --sarcasm--
