I wonder what the viewing stand is about if the test is done underground. Is there anything to see above ground? Certainly no mushroom cloud. Maybe the plume of dust and smoke?

My bet is that, unless Bush gets scared and cave in now, which is unlikely, Kim Jong-il will go ahead with the test some time before Aug. 15.

If they test it will be a Mag 4-5 (likely closer to 4) quake somewhere in North Korea....and once you look at the waveform it will be obvious it was a test (a BIG spike at the beginning rather than the longer trace of a normal quake.)

I check EMSC, Red Puma a lot and have a decent chance of catching it before the MSM does...
