Planned Parenthood Plans Campaign Against Benedict XVI

New York, May. 04, 2005 ( CNA ) - Planed Parenthood has launched a campaign to motivate all of its members and supporters, nominal Catholics and non-Catholics, to send letters to the editor, requesting that Pope Benedict XVI reconsider his “backward views” and change his opinion on sexual morality.

Pope Benedict XVI must be encouraged to “reconsider his dangerously outdated stances on birth control, abortion and sexuality in order to help move the Catholic Church into the 21st century,” reads a memo issued by campaign manager Eve Fox.

“The new Pope's positions on these crucial issues pose a terrible danger to the health of millions of women and girls around the world and undermines efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS,” Fox wrote.

The campaign manager justified this action, saying that the “the Church has tremendous influence over many governments, especially in Latin America, and plays a powerful role in shaping social and political norms around the world.”

Calling him “even more conservative” than Pope John Paul II, Fox told her supporters that Pope Benedict XVI is “against all forms of contraception and opposes the use of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS.”

Prior to being elected Pope, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger “told Catholics in the U.S. it would be a sin to vote for pro-choice candidates like John Kerry, and urged bishops to deny Kerry Communion. He has also led the Catholic Church's campaign against same-sex marriage and other rights for same-sex couples, including the right to adopt children,” wrote Fox.

Im an Easter Catholic most years. But nothing gets me more upset than others attacking my religion or its leaders. What a dumb A$$ move on the part of planned parenthood.

Parenthood is such a backwards idea. Babies should be produced in vats, factory-style, and raised in state-run homes that will inculcate appropriate values in them via education and hynopaedia. The nuclear family is an outmoded bourgeois institution and is responsible for the decadence and degeneracy of the world. While Planned Parenthood is right in campaigning against the moribund worldview of the Pope, they themselves are stuck in an inferior economic substructure. Our Ford will show them the way, or we shall banish them to the Island. /Aldous Huxley

The Devil doesn't like the new Pope.

That would make a great tag line. The abortionists hate Pope Benedict. If they actually believed in the Devil they would fear the Pope too.

"to send letters to the editor, requesting that Pope Benedict XVI reconsider his “backward views” and change his opinion on sexual morality. "

A waste of time since Popes listen to the Holy Spirit. Jesus called Peter 'The Rock' upon which to build His church. He did not pick Peter to be the 'poller' of public opinion.

And in a related story, Planned Parenthood has requested that that Sun stop rising in the East and setting in the West.

It wouldn't be a bad idea if real Catholics wrote some letters of their own as well.

I don't think the ill effects of the contraceptive culture on the health of our society are well understood by the population at large, for example.

Well said. They might as well say,"planned parenthood plans campaign against God."

This ought to be rich.

These idiots think that the Pope will wilt under the pressure of these "Modernists". This is laughable. The Pope is not concerned a whit if he is out of fashion with his views. The reward for him and his flock is in the eternal afterlife. These PP nitwits should go back to championing their founding raison d'etre- Eugenics.
