The Rev. Al Sharpton says he did nothing wrong when he took questionable campaign checks two years ago and the lack of an investigation by then-Attorney General John Ashcroft, who is no fan of his, is proof of his innocence.
Ashcroft "was the attorney general who had me put in jail for nonviolent protests in Vieques," Sharpton told NY1, according to transcripts of an interview. "If he had tapes that were incriminating me two years ago, I'm sure we'd all know by now."
The FBI videotaped Sharpton accepting checks for his 2004 presidential campaign from Philadelphia powerbroker Donald White.............
White was at the center of a corruption probe before his death last fall. White's associate, Detroit fast-food king La-Van Hawkins, is being tried as a result of the probe.
It's not known how much Sharpton received, but he's heard on tape demanding $25,000 more.
Hawkins and White were later heard on a wiretap suggesting Sharpton may not have reported all the money to the FEC.
Sharpton claims his finances have always been disclosed.
Hawkins and White were also heard on tape hoping that Sharpton could get them access to billions of dollars from PepsiCo, where he was an advisor. Sharpton responded that he often helps minorities gain access to businessmen adding, "I do not consider it criminal."

Isn't it just amazing how any little thing a Republican does gets wide coverage from the MSM but these two crooks get a free ride.
(Sob) The Democrat Party's tolerance and compassion is so touching (sniffle).

"If I can slap this donkey I can make it kick George Bush out of the White House." Al Sharpton
"Ah'll show dat suckah Clintun who de first Black presidunt be."
Crazy Al is still jockeying for position...
...Oh now, you didn't think the good reverend was going to slink away quietly after the 2004 election did you?
...The only thing Al Sharpton is good for these days is comic relief.
-Regards, T.

ROTFLOL....that pic cracks me up......the expression on Al's face is priceless.
Many thanks, Beth.
Ole Rev. Al sure must scare all those Whitey Executives in the Old & New Media for him to get so much face time and even a seat at a presidential primary debate!
