How bout they grow food, build things and create wealth in Old Mexico. They would surely be a greater asset there than here. But of course the perks would not be there would they. The US taxpayer can no longer afford those perks Dane.

I have ofter wondered. If a person has the money necessary to leave home and/or pay a coyote to get them to the US, why don't they have enough money to start a small business in Mexico?

I agree, Sterco.

The argument that if we stop illegal immigration the price of food will skyrocket is pure crap.

A new economic balance will arise - under Nafta that cheap labor will be used to grow vegetables and make things in Mexico, which in the end will be better for everybody. The Mexican economy will improve, thus easing the pressure for illegal migration.

What we should incourage is migration of capital and not the breaking of laws.
