It is not at all suprising that a group of government employees, whose tenure is for life, whose conduct is not subject to review by anyone outside of the system, whose power is limited only as they, themselves, determine, should tend, over time, to
imperiousness. No
"Imperial President," but rather an "Imperial Judiciary" that ought be feared.

Of course the president of the ABA is incensed: lawyers have been given a monopoly on being members of the judiciary, so any attack on the judiciary is an attack on his guild.
