Well, I didn't really forget. I was just typing a bunch of things that personally affected me, as I was first married in 1977. You are quite right, that was one of his first actions, and a stinker it was!

The Carter years were like dog years...each one seemed like sseven!!

I was in elementary school when Carter was elected. I didn't know much about his presidency, but I do remember my parents being stressed about his presidency. They were young parents, my father was a minister, my mom a teacher and finances were tight. They didn't discuss it much in front of their children but I can remember feeling an undercurrent of stress. When Reagan was elected I felt like my parents were hopeful that things would get better and by and large they did. Thankfully we had a Republican congress when Clinton was in office.
