The next Pope will probably closely resemble JPII ideologically, since it was JPII who personally "handpicked" many of the Archbishops, Bishops, and Cardinals during his 26 year Papacy.
I beg to differ. That's not how the Holy Spirit works :-)
JP2 was brilliant in his decision to move the levers of power at least parially out of the hands of the West. Even if we don't go down the crapper, we aren't going to be good for much for a while, I'm afraid.
