"In the academy as reflected by Brooklyn College, someone like me, whose first two books studied left-wing congressional dissenters and who wore a Hillary Clinton button during the 2000 Senate campaign, was deemed holding views too "conservative" to be tolerated."

Oh this poor man, how bitter must he be? But, has he LEARNED anything?

"The University of Michigan has 25 full-time department members teaching U.S. history:only one publishes on political history, as opposed to 11 professors examining race in America and seven specialists in U.S. women’s history. Of the 11 Americanists in the University of Washington’s history department, only one studies politics, the law, or foreign policy—and he specializes in American socialism and communism."

Don't you know that intellectual diversity is the LAST thing universities want?

Thanks for this important post. It provides a very well informed and scholarly exposition of the cultural treason that academia now promotes as "education".

We went from demanding new "diverse" opinions in academia forty years ago, to "accepting" the inclusion of many new "diverse" opinions, to only those "new" opinions being acceptable. It took only two generations to make the national campus of marxist indoctrination is complete.

Tenure and many other protections of the Bolsheviks must be abolished. Voters and trustees must assume their responsibilities over the professors. Academic freedom cannot be a fiction behind which Marxist indoctrination is allowed to hide and present itself as "education", which it is not.
