Why wouldn't this man just divorce Terri after he got the girlfriend and two kids. I'll never understand that unless he needed to stay married to her for money from lawsuits or something like that. Maybe it was just to spite the parents because of his hatred but its a mystery to me!
Mike S. could not risk Terri improving to the point where she could speak and tell the world that her husband tried to kill her. He could not control her if he divorced her. That's why he wouldn't allow a truly independent autopsy after Terri's death, why he demanded she cremated, why he wouldn't let the family in as she died, why he wouldn't allow any kind of medical investigation or rehabilitative therapy, why he was hell bent on killing her AFTER he got the 1.6 million dollar settlement.
Maybe it is because he knew she wanted a divorce. He is a control freak, so her wanting out of the marriage would "dis" him. The strangulation did not do it, but his spite did not abate.
