Couple or three things come to mind: 1) Professional courtesy to a member of the ruling class. 2)If the punishment was any harsher, the MSM would have accused the Bush administration of playing politics. 3) Burglar will be part of some future Democrat administration and the Republicrats need to make nice so they can be invited to the good parties.

Yes. Unfortunately for him, he was not quite high enough on the food chain for a 100% Berger style sentencing.

What I was speaking of, the continued cooperation with investigators he is beholden to. I doubt that will actually happen.
