No one claims that Terri Schiavo was immortal. The fact is that she would have lived a lot longer had she been provided with sustenance.

If it is a private matter, why do they need to involve others in killing Terri? Doctors, nurses, hospice workers. And they are killing Terri under Florida law, which allows them to do so. Hardly a private family matter. It is a ridiculous argument, meant to salve a guilty conscience.

You would be quite wrong on that score. There are many FReepers who think that a living will gives them the right to have themselves euthanized at an appropriate time. It's a private matter, and all that. Legally, they are right. I think morally, they do not have that right. Also, there are many FReepers that have no clue that most states allow euthanasia for cases like Terri's.
