Considering the many, many Spanish-speaking people in Florida, it's intriguing that this didn't come up earlier.

If they want to switch names for their high school, I hear "Thomas Jefferson" has become available.

But I guess they can't use that because they're more civilized than that in Florida, now.

Correct, and the fact the history of Matanzas inlet is prominently displayed all over the region. If the parents are that ignorant, the name of the school should be the least of their worries.

There as is even a river by that name and a bay right in St.Augustine.

This is about some ridiculous parents. Some people need to get over themselves.... they are probably transplanted yankees but unlike me... they just do not love the South or the history of Florida.
