I don't understand why this thread is still active. The poor woman is gone.

I am going to say to you what I have said at least 30 times on this same thread....

The scan shows atrophy. That is not a normal brain.

But I made ABSOLUTELY NO COMMENT ABOUT HER MENTAL CAPABILITIES.

It is abnormal. That's ALL I said.

I know this may seem harsh to you since there was nothing wrong or confrontational about your post, but just skim through the last 200 posts or so.

I have had to address this exact same thing over and over again.

What I think about Terri Schiavo is not something I am willing to discuss.

But the problem was/is that the immediate world concluded that she must indeed have in a vegetative state because of the abnormal scan that even the untrained eye can see. Even some medical people, including an Ivy League medical ethicist whom I heard interviewed last week on a talk show, authoritatively made an unknowable inference from her bran scan that Terri could "feel nothing" and "died without discomfort." The experts in neurological imaging and neurological function know that this physician might think he knows, but in fact has no way for anyone to know that from the scan and is apparently unaware that there are people who have had CTs that look like hers and do have mental function.
