Yeah well, plenty cobwebs in the belfry this flu week, too.

Goodness, the clock has raced along.

Got two bottles gatorade for mother.

Have blessed evening.

Off to class . . .

I forget the number, but before China opened up they speculated on the numbers of Christians still there - figuring they had dwindled to very few after WWII. When China opened up, and missionaries were allowed back, they were suprised at the staggering numbers of Christians in underground churches and how much it had GROWN since WWII (by the millions - I imagine you would know the number?).

I was at a conference a few years ago (before 9-11) and some gal from China said that their prayers for the Christians in the U.S. was for US to undergo persecution to strenghten OUR faith! (Gee- thanks lady!)

The conservative figure is 10% of the population.

That would mean far more genuine Christians are in China than in the USA.

Regardless of their prayers, it will come true. Our plentiful sins of rebellion against God, His priorities and standards will result in such.

THX.

I dunno -- I'd like to believe it was true, but I don't see how it is possible. I hope I'm wrong. however, the FACTS that I do know is that Christians in Irq are being chased out of places they have lived in for millenia (Assyrian and Chaldean Christians)

It's highly probable that both things are true.

All the more so in such a society where serious secrets are routinely kept by individuals, families and tribal groups.

And, you have evidently not read the FREEPER'S POST who has relatives and friends working in such spheres--who asserts that the numbers are conservative.

. . . . post #196:

I have friends and relatives on the ground doing this work. The numbners are conservative.

So, with at least a near first hand report, the numbers are verified as conservative.

I have 0% problem believing that.

Wow Quix this is Wonderful.
Thanks for posting this. Amazing how God can move when we remove Barriers sometimes. but in China the God moves as well? Imagine if those barriers fell too.

Amen. I rather agree.

But many in the Chinese church don't. They pray that the persecution does not end.

They believe that were the persecution to end, the Chinese church would become flabby and corrupt spiritually as well as cease to grow. I think they are more right than wrong.

Quix, if this is true--and I have no reason to doubt your word, just the, ummm, strain on my credulity--that is fantastic news, a miracle.

This is the era for greater and greater miracles. Certainly it is that. I think more due to Holy Spirit's supernatural dreams and visions work sovereignly out of the blue than any mission work. The mission work is just playing catch-up with what Holy Spirit has already done, imho. Dramatic stuff.

But I don't think we've seen anything yet. I think this is the bare beginnings. Credulities aplenty will more or less utterly crash and burn before it's over, I suspect.

Thanks for your kind response.

Right you are.

A religion, such as islam, that requires coercion to control its members, is a religion of the devil.

"Historically Christians have tried, tortured, hung and burned alive vast numbers of people because they were suspected of heresy, Judaism, Witchcraft…; slashed off people’s heads on public streets for not confessing that Jesus Christ was God; and condemned the works of some of histories greatest scientists, theologians, philosophers and artists."

Only according to your revisionist christian hating history. The worst period of Christianity was during the dark ages, where misguided priests and others committed these travisties. Certainly not in the numbers you are hoping for. They certainly weren't following the ways of Christ either. Don't bother trying to cry "what about the crusades" either. They were a defensive action against the Muhammadan crusades which were slaughtering their way throughout the holylands and into Europe, and North Africa. They were a defensive action to retake the holylands, which at one time belonged to the Christians and Jews. Your Athiest Rulers have killed Millions upon millions throughout the ages, far more than any "religion" has. Well, with the exception of Islam, which really isn't a religion, just a murderous cult which by Muhammads command is spread by flowing blood.

I am not sure what your point is other than sounding silly. If you read the posts you will realize that I am a Christian. Also, do not bother offering excuses for "defensive action", because it is inadequate at best. I am proud of how far Christianity has evolved and I pray to God that Islam can too evolve

"God is moving so fast in Afghanistan, we're just trying to keep up," one Afghan Christian worker told me, requesting anonymity. "The greatest need now is leadership development. We need to train pastors to care for all these new believers."

Good news. I believe Islam is the perfect sect for leaders who want to keep their people hopeless. It relies completely on submission to the will of Allah, and has no provision for Free Will. People are brainwashed into being content with their sorry lot in life, and only given hope for glory by causing the deaths of 'infidels'.

Christianity is a religion of Hope, for a new life in Jesus, and for the freedom to make a better life for yourself and your family. And you don't have to kill anyone to accomplish these things!

This doesn't surprise me, dear Quix. From prophetic words and articles I've read and heard, God is moving in the Middle East. People have dreamt of a man in white robes coming to them. It's Jesus. He wants His way in the Middle East and He's going to have it. That's why we need to pray for those who despitefully use us! It won't get done any other way. Of course you won't hear about this in the MSM. The thought of God scares the hell out of them (and I hope it does!). Maryxxx
