Actually, somebody ought to go to the Bitburg Cemetery in Germany that Ronald Reagan visited, and leave some notes of apology on the grave sites of those in the Waffen SS: To apologize for having fought a brutal war against them, and having killed them and many others, in order to stop their Nazi political philsophy, which we the US, ourselves, would begin taking on 60 years later.

I understand where you're coming from, but can't agree with that. Apologizing to the Waffen SS would be in effect saying that their evil was right. It was evil then, it's evil now. Nope, no apology to them.
