Sometimes it's hard to know how or why things are being allowed to happen. In our anger, in our sorrow, in our grief, in our misery, we want to kick butt, hurt those we think are guilty and DO SOMETHING! Sometimes, though, all we can do is just keep belonging to God - loving, caring for those who need, standing up for the right, being peacemakers and merciful and poor in spirit. I wrote this prayer for MY moments like that:
My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even as the darkness gathers.
My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even as the storm clouds deepen.
My Jesus, I trust in thee,
even when the lightning threatens.
My Jesus, help me trust in thee,
even though my heart quakes.
My Jesus, help me trust in thee
even though you may seem far way.
My Jesus, help me trust in thee,
even though evil seems near.
My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even when sorrow breaks my heart.
My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even in the darkness of my grief.
My Jesus, may I trust in thee,
even when I don't understand why.
