This doesn't "go away", because if Terri dies there will certainly be new candidates for euthanasia for the death industry to work on.

True enough, the issue doesn't go away, but the specific case will, and there's a lot of name recognition here that will have to be built up again over time to bring the issue back into the public eye.

Michael Savage, the most conspicuous demagogue on Terri Schiavo, hasn't left the Bay Area to organize an act of civil disobedience in front of the hospice. It's easy to talk sh*t, going out and putting yourself on the line is another story.

If Savage was governor, do you honestly think he wouldn't have sent the police to rescue her.

He and his legal team didn't seem to feel they lacked authority and power at the news conference. If he was wrong then he needs to call another news conference and own up to it.

I see what you are saying and it would have been best if he had not blustered about it. Technically he probably could make a case for seizing Terri but without judicial or legislative backing he comes off as a lone dictator in the wilderness. It was up to the Fl Senate to act to over rule the judge and they did not. They are the villians, not Jeb. He has been great.

My comments here are because I just don't want Jeb Bush to run for president! I want someone better aligned with my principles and priorities and the Bushes tend to be diametrically opposed (they tend to be conservative in the ways I'm not and liberal/moderate in the ways I'm not - it's not 100%, but probably about 85% of the time).

With regard to Terri Schiavo, I think Jeb Bush has done all he could within reason.

what part of the fact that Greer has issued orders to the myriad police around the hospice to not let the state police on the grounds - did you not get?

What both of you and far too many others here want Jeb and President Bush to do, is IMPOSSIBLE for them to do. No,they don't have the power to "save Teri". As a matter of fact,Governor Bush would be hauled off to jail,if he tried that,that your heads would spin a la Linda Blair in "THE EXORCIST".

There are enumerated powers listed in the Constitution,for crying out loud and showboating/extravagant methods,such as have been called for here,aren't listed.
