Who fixed it, and why?

It begins with Michael Schiavo's perjury in the wake of his wife's 'unfortunate' accident, when he stated that all he wanted to do was to take care of her for the rest of her life. That got him a total of over 2 million dollars, a large chunk of which ended up in the pocket of his attorney, George Felos, who just so happens to have made campaign contributions to 'Judge' George W. Greer, who has made his pro-death decisions without ever having even SEEN Terri Schiavo for himself. Every decision made has been in favor of Michael Schiavo and his attorney George Felos.

There is a culture within the judiciary which begins at the local and state level, and reaches all the way to the SCOTUS, which is to give 'the benefit of the doubt' to judges who are lower on the food chain, i.e., judges have to have committed egregious error in order to be totally overturned. The only recent (to my recollection) example of this was when the Florida Supreme Court clearly exceeded it's authority in the 2000 election by effectively re-writing Florida election law, and their actions were nullified by the SCOTUS. There was no other decision for the SCOTUS to make, otherwise they would have ceded authority and precedent for that sorry situation to the Florida Supreme Court.

But as for the 'fix being in', the objective for Michael Schiavo was always to engineer the death of his wife AFTER he obtained the funds necessary to insure that he would be able to lead a life of comfort and ease, with a NEW wife and family. His actions demonstrate that. He denied rehabilitation for Terri Schiavo. He even refused to allow potentially dangerous infections which developed in the course of her multiple stays in nursing homes, to be treated, knowing full well that it could have resulted in her death. He has done everything possible to shut out Terri's parents and family, refusing requests for medical records, and his friendly judge (Greer) has validated Michael Schiavo's absolute rule over his incapacitated wife, despite numerous conflicts of interest which should have mandated his removal as Terri's guardian.

The fact that Greer has NEVER made a ruling which did NOT benefit Michael Schiavo, which did not even slow down the process of euthanizing Terri Schiavo, demonstrates that there is something inhibiting Judge Greer from exercising fair, proper and balanced judgment.

Oh yes indeed pal, the 'fix' was definitely in from the very start, and the refusal of that federal judge in Tampa, and now the 3 judge panel in Atlanta to take any effective action is nothing but the temper tantrums of those black robed fools who believe that THEY are in fact above the law, and that Congress has no authority whatsoever in matters such as these. Unfortunately, the United States Constitution (Date of Death, March 23, 2005) used to stand for the universal right of every man, woman and child to 'life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness'.

Terri Schiavo has been denied her liberty (being kept a virtual prisoner locked up by her husband with court-ordered approval from Greer), she most certainly is being deprived of her right to life, and you can be she won't be happy as she breathes her last.

But the pro-death crowd will have a mass orgasm as they celebrate not only Terri's death, but the death of our Constitutional Republic.

THERE is your 'fix', bub.

Hitman, I agree with you. If you read Judge Whittemore's ruling, it suggests that he too felt that more information, i.e. new evidence, should have been presented. Gibbs blew it by arguing that Greer screwed up in procedure. He could have presented the entire case.

I'm still curious as to why he didn't subpoena Terri to come before Judge Whittemore. One of the biggest arguments against Greer's ruling is that he never even saw Terri. Why not rectify that problem by calling Terri as a witness?
