The next thing I expect American hospitals to be pushing are "advanced directives" for new moms. They can sign a statement instructing the hosptial personnel to leave the baby in a pan of water to die if it isn't quite perfect when it comes out.
In a few decades you will be able to euthanize children right before their 13th birthday so you don't have to put up with the cost and worry of having a teenager around.
