Thank you for the response. It's better I didn't know some of those things. The more you know, the harder it gets.
I was all for DNR orders when they first came out, I was young and naive.
I saw them terribly abused.
I had to chew out a young ICU nurse one time because she flippantly remarked "What are they doing in the unit, they want to die anyway"
DNR is supposed to mean nothing extraordinary but it is used to give shabby, neglectful and deficient, care all the time.
I won't allow anybody in my family to have one again.
