According to her husband -- her legal guardian -- she stated she would never want to live like that

Of course, that is the same husband who also asked a nurse, "Is that bitch ever going to die?"

At this point, the man could say anything he wants and Terri could not refute it.

Congress is the "grand inquest of the nation". It has the right to subpoena anyone.

You're not serious, are you?

Congress passes laws that courts enforce. They do not issue subpoenas in order to interfere with court orders.

Congress wants to see whether Michael is telling the truth about Terri's condition. Michael's behavior provides substantial cause to believe he is outright lying about it. Michael claims she's entirely incapable of communication, but the parents claim differently. Calling her to testify would clarify things a lot, especially if she was tested to ensure Michael hadn't drugged her.

And please don't assume that Boortz's opinion is some sort of "official" libertarian line or anything of the sort. None of the other libertarians whom I know personally is in favor of murdering this woman.

I don't know if I should call myself a libertarian, but I definitely have libertarian inclinations. I listen to Boortz almost every day and I normally agree with him, but I vehemently disagree with him regarding Terri.

That is not Congress' purview. They are a legislative body. They can only call people to testify on pending legislation, not to determine whether or not they have lied to courts.

And is there not pending legislation in the Schiavo case? If Congress finds that Terri's Fourteenth-Amendment rights are being violated, they have the Constitutional authority to pass legislation to fix that.

How could someone pretend to be unaware that there IS pending legislation in Congress? It was discussed and voted on several days ago and will be brought up again on Monday if not sooner!

There is a subpoena from the Senate which automatically puts the named witness under federal protection, and a county-level judge can declare that he personally can veto their legislative efforts by killing their witness?

That makes Greer even more than powerful than the President, whose veto can be overidden!

"The state judge has every right to overrule the federal judge and that is the way it should be"

State judges do NOT have the power to trump federal judges. Federal judges are of higher rank (for lack of a better term) than local or state judges, thus the term higher court. If you were half the constitutional expert you claim to be, you'd know that.

Some men were arrested this morning for tresspassing after trying to sneak food and water in to Terri.

I left yesterday thinking Terri was safe for another week. I cannot believe this crap.

And what is this pending legislation that required Terri's testimony before the House government reform committee?

The admission that you don't understand the relevance of that post is most revealing.

Wow.

Michael Schiavo is quoted as asking “When is that bitch gonna die?”; by Terri's nurse, Carla Iyer in a deposition in September of 2003.

Unleash the hounds.
